Everything you need to know before your appointment at Penrith Specialist Group.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

To ensure a comprehensive and smooth consultation, please bring the following items with you on the day:

Valid GP or Specialist Referral Letter

Required by Medicare for you to claim the specialist rebate. Standard GP referrals are valid for 12 months; specialist-to-specialist referrals are valid for 3 months.

Medicare, DVA & Private Health Insurance Cards

Please bring your physical or digital Medicare card, Pension or Concession card (if applicable), and Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) card.

Comprehensive List of All Current Medications

Including prescription medicines, inhalers, eye drops, vitamins, and over-the-counter supplements. Bringing your actual medication boxes or Webster-pak is very helpful.

Previous Investigation Results & Imaging

Any prior ECGs, echocardiogram reports, CT scans, MRIs, blood test results, hospital discharge summaries, or previous specialist correspondence.

Fees & Medicare Rebates

Penrith Specialist Group operates as a private specialist medical practice. Consultation fees are payable on the day of your appointment.

• Medicare Rebates: We submit your Medicare claim electronically at reception so that your rebate is refunded directly into your registered bank account by Medicare within 24-48 hours.

• Concession Card Holders & DVA: Concessions may apply for valid Pensioner Concession Card holders. DVA Gold Card holders are fully bulk-billed for eligible covered consultations.

• Payment Methods: We accept EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard, and direct debit. (No cash kept on premises).

For fee quotes specific to your consultation or diagnostic test, please ask our reception staff when booking.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we kindly request at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us to offer the consultation time to another patient on our priority waiting list.
