Specialties & Clinical Services
Specialist medical consultations, non-invasive cardiac diagnostic imaging, neurophysiological evaluations, and tailored chronic disease management.
Specialist Cardiology Consultations
Our consultant cardiologists conduct comprehensive assessments for symptoms including chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, and hypertension. Each consultation involves a meticulous review of patient history, physical examination, electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation, and formulation of an individualized diagnostic and treatment plan.
Common Clinical Indications:
- Suspected or established coronary artery disease
- Hypertension & hyperlipidaemia
- Palpitations and heart rhythm concerns
- Shortness of breath and fluid retention
- Pre-operative cardiac risk assessment
- Family history of early cardiovascular disease
Please bring your GP referral letter, a current list of all medications, Medicare and private health cards, and previous cardiac test results.

Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE)
An echocardiogram is a safe, painless, non-invasive ultrasound examination using sound waves to create moving pictures of your heart. It evaluates heart muscle pumping strength (ejection fraction), identifies heart valve narrowing or leakage, and detects congenital anomalies or pericardial effusion.
Common Clinical Indications:
- Heart murmur investigation
- Breathlessness & suspected heart failure
- Assessment of heart valve disease
- Monitoring chemotherapy cardiotoxicity
- High blood pressure complications
No special dietary restrictions. Wear a comfortable two-piece outfit as you will need to undress from the waist up. A gown will be provided.
30 – 45 minutes
Exercise Stress Testing & Stress Echo
Exercise stress testing monitors your heart's electrical activity and blood pressure while walking on a motorized treadmill at progressively increasing speeds and inclines. In a Stress Echocardiogram, ultrasound images are captured before and immediately following exercise to detect areas of reduced blood supply (ischaemia) to heart muscles.
Common Clinical Indications:
- Investigation of exertional chest tightness or breathlessness
- Assessment of coronary artery disease
- Evaluation of exercise capacity and exercise-induced arrhythmias
- Pre-clearance for vigorous exercise programs
Wear comfortable walking or running shoes and loose-fitting clothes. Avoid heavy meals and caffeine for 3 hours prior. Check with our clinic whether you should withhold beta-blockers on the day.
45 – 60 minutes
Holter & 24-Hour Ambulatory BP Monitoring
Holter monitoring records every heartbeat over a 24 to 48-hour period via small chest sensors connected to a compact digital recorder. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) takes readings every 20-30 minutes day and night to establish true circadian blood pressure patterns and eliminate 'white-coat' effects.
Common Clinical Indications:
- Intermittent palpitations or skipped beats
- Unexplained dizziness, lightheadedness, or blackouts (syncope)
- Assessment of anti-arrhythmic medication efficacy
- Diagnosis of nocturnal hypertension or resistant high blood pressure
Shower prior to your fitting appointment as the monitoring equipment must remain dry while worn.
15 minutes to fit, 24 hours of wear
